Olsen created this work in 2021 as the basis for a visual score to be sent to Venezuelan composer Gil Sansón for his musical interpretation. Using thin ink and acrylic washes, Olsen produced two long-format drawings on Arches BFK Rives paper. One was was sent to Sansón, the companion painting was folded accordion style and preserved in a clear plexiglass box with a hidden sliding opening.

Lakeside Blues can be displayed on a shelf within the plexiglass box, or the 44.25 x 5.75 inch reversible drawing can be mounted and framed as a wall artwork.
